SS Series is our highest-purity aluminum nitride powder. AlN020SS has a mean particle diameter of 2 μm, a sharp particle size distribution (PSD), and the lowest metal, oxygen, and carbon impurity levels in our product range.
Purity and a tight PSD are both critical in sintering. Lower impurity content allows more consistent densification, and a sharp PSD reduces variability in the finished ceramic's thermal conductivity and microstructure.
Key applications
AlN020SS is used in the production of sintered AlN ceramic substrates and structural ceramic parts. Typical end uses include circuit carriers, heat spreaders, and heat sinks for semiconductor packages and high-power electronics modules. It is also the base powder for GS Series, our granulated AlN grade for compression and molding processes.
